SNAFU isn’t an easy show to watch but it’s a real gem compared to the lumps of coal that most romantic comedies call themselves these days. It’s no wonder most of the series’ fans liken him to Batman, the Dark Knight. Yet, his kindness and willingness to hurt himself in difficult situations in order to get the best results makes Hikigaya a unique, compelling character. The main character is bitter, cynical and apathetic, the antithesis of typical romantic comedy protagonists. Studio: Wit Studio Genre: Action, Drama, Supernatural Placed in the context of a food competition within high school, the erotic-looking facial and body expressions for both male and female characters in Food Wars is riotously funny. The food presentation and cooking in Food Wars are salivating to watch, but it is the characters’ ridiculous over-the-top reactions towards eating delicious (or horrible) food that elevates this show. Why you should watch it: Food Wars is the epitome of food porn, in more ways than one. Thus begins Souma’s new life to become one of the best chefs in the country.
